Cristóvão Norte will be one of the vice-presidents of the PSD Parliamentary Group

The bench will be led by Hugo Soares, one of Prime Minister Luís Montenegro's right-hand men

Algarve deputy Cristóvão Norte will be one of the vice-presidents of the PSD Parliamentary Group. The inauguration will take place this Tuesday, April 9th.

Contacted by Sul Informação, the PSD parliamentarian explained that, after a meeting of the Parliamentary Group, the leadership will take office "during the afternoon".

The bench will be led by Hugo Soares, one of Prime Minister Luís Montenegro's right-hand men.

The first vice-president of the bench will be Miguel Guimarães, former president of the Order of Doctors, head of the AD list for Porto and who was even considered to be Minister of Health.

Among the 12 vice-presidents are also names such as João Valle e Azevedo, Pedro Alves (party coordinator for Local Governments) or Alexandre Poço, former president of the Social Democratic Youth (JSD).

Cristóvão Norte considers that, «to resolve regional problems, it is necessary to have national influence».

«That’s also how I see this role. I am in a position that allows me to exert decisive influence to solve fundamental problems in the region and the country. It is an opportunity for the region that I will not waste. Water, health, housing and mobility are the priorities,” he says.

The deputy reinforces that «this legislature requires commitments: from the Government, from the parties that support the government, but also from the opposition».

«We all have to talk to everyone: only then will it be possible to solve problems and move the country forward», concludes Cristóvão Norte.
