Only Miguel Oliveira, Quartararo and Bagnaia won MotoGP in the Algarve

The first to win in the Algarve was Miguel Oliveira, in a race without an audience due to the pandemic

There are only three drivers who have won the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, a trio of chosen ones who dominated the 'Russian Coaster' in the face of the excellence of all their opponents.

The first to win in the Algarve was Miguel Oliveira. On November 22, 2020, at 14 pm, 42 minutes and 26 seconds, the Portuguese driver hugged the checkered flag in first position, with more than three seconds of advantage over Jack Miller, second, with Franco Morbidelli in his ' shadow'.

It was the perfect debut for MotoGP in the Algarve, unfortunately without an audience, because the pandemic and containment measures did not allow the victory to be celebrated at Sitio do Escampadinho, Portimão.

After Miguel Oliveira, only Fabio Quartararo and Francesco Bagnaia won on the 4592 meters of asphalt near Portimão, both adding two victories – in 2021 the championship held two races in the Algarve – with Bagnaia also becoming the Sprint winner in 2023 – the first in the history of the championship – but this is not included in the GP accounts.

It now remains to wait for the end of next Sunday's race, to find out who will be first at the finish line, whether one of the three already winners or whether there will be a new 'King of the Roller Coaster'.

Along the way, there are 25 laps, 114,8 kilometers and 375 curves, at a faster pace than all other rivals.
