Rui Tavares guarantees that Livre “knows how to grow well” and wants to “burst the balloon” of the extreme right

Livre managed to elect four deputies

Livre's spokesperson assured today that the party "knows how to grow well and responsibly" and defined Chega as its main target, stating that it wants to "burst the balloon" of the extreme right.

«It is very important that everyone who voted for Livre in these elections and those who, even not voting for Livre, saw Livre's growth with pleasure, know that Livre knows how to grow and knows how to grow well and responsibly», he assured Rui Tavares.

The leader, who was re-elected today as a deputy to the Assembly of the Republic, argued that the results obtained today by Livre, which managed to elect an unprecedented parliamentary group of four deputies, show that «there is space for a European green left in Portugal».

In an intervention lasting around half an hour, Livre once again targeted its main target: the extreme right, namely Chega.

Tavares noted that Chega's bench had increased, but countered that "Livre's also" and stated that Livre's deputies would be "up to contributing to Portuguese democracy, and with the rest of the progressives and democrats, do enough so that this far-right balloon in Portugal is a balloon that can be burst.”
