Renato da Silva (Team BMX Quarteira) starts winning in the new season

The next double round of the Portuguese BMX Cup will take place in Coimbra, on the 4th and 5th of May

Renato da Silva (Team BMX Quarteira) prevailed in the first two races of the Portuguese BMX Cup, held on Saturday and Sunday, 2 and 3 March, on the Quarteira track, in the municipality of Loulé.

The Algarve runner's main opponent was in the category super class teammate Bernardo Rocha. In both the Saturday and Sunday races, Renato da Silva was the best, followed by Bernardo Rocha. In third place were Francis Luiz (Clube Bicross de Portimão), on Saturday, and Leonardo Carmo (Team BMX Quarteira), on Sunday.

The main female category, + 15 years old, had an equal podium on both days of competition. Rita Xufre (Núcleo Bicross de Setúbal/Knowledge Inside) was the best, followed by teammate Leonor Carvalho and Filipa Gonçalvez (Clube Bicross de Portimão).

Among the men over 17 years old, the highlight goes to Martim Almeida (Clube Bicross de Portimão), winner of the Saturday and Sunday stages. Francisco Sousa (Team BMX Quarteira) won on Saturday in the under-17 category, taking the lead in the Cup overall, despite the victory on Sunday being favored by Sebastian Ellis (Clube Bicross de Portimão).

Joaquim Pino (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira) completed the under-15 men's events. In the same category, but among girls, there was shared dominance. Victory on Saturday for Íris Moaru (Clube Bicross de Portimão) and on Sunday for Maria Pinto (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira), commander of the Cup.

In the remaining scoring categories for the Portuguese Cup, the commanders are female master Alexandra Loureiro (Pinhalbike Team/Associação Desportiva), Marco Amaral (Team BMX Quarteira) in cruisers 30/39 years old and Paulo Domingues (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira) in cruisers +40 years old.

The Clube Bicross de Portimão left the neighboring town of Quarteira at the top of the Portuguese Cup overall for teams.
