Study was prepared by KIPT

The study on motivations for a career in tourism and hospitality, developed by the KIPT Association, Innovation and Tourism, Collaborative Laboratory will be presented next Monday, March 4, at 15 pm, at Algarve School of Hotel and Tourism, in Faro.

The objective is to «prepare and provide tourism professionals with skills and tools that allow them to improve their performance, the results of tourist activity and the perception of value by customers in terms of service excellence in the sector is a constant challenge».

According to KIPT – which developed a study on the motivations for a career in Tourism & Hospitality that facilitates understanding the dynamics of this constantly evolving sector – this idea was recently reaffirmed with the creation of a training project promoted by Turismo de Portugal and the Algarve Tourism Region.

«It is also important to know what motivates professionals and what strategies can be implemented to manage and satisfy their perspectives», says the association.

With this study, the motivations, attitudes and expectations that shape professional choices in this field were indicated.

The conclusions highlight the pressing need to adopt different strategies in managing careers and expectations, taking into account the specific characteristics of each profile in the Tourism & Hospitality sector.

The study presentation event features a round table discussion on the topic, with the presence of professionals and representatives from Higher Education Institutions.

The opening session is scheduled for 15 pm and will be led by Elisabete Mendes, from the Pedagogical Management and Innovation department - Training Department, and Pedro Lopes, member of the KPIT CoLab board.

At 15:30 pm Antónia Correia, president of KIPT CoLab, presents the study on motivations for a career in tourism and hospitality.
