Even without electing, the result of Livre in the Algarve «encourages»

Regarding Chega's victory in the Algarve, Rodrigo Teixeira admitted that he was “not happy”

Livre was unable to elect a deputy for the Algarve, but Rodrigo Teixeira, head of the list, says that the 6501 votes that the party collected «encourages us to continue working».

In statements to the Sul Informação, Rodrigo Teixeira highlighted the fact that Livre “more than tripled” the number of votes in relation to the 2022 Legislative Assembly, when it obtained 2111.

“That gives us strength. Livre has grown: we will have a parliamentary group, with four deputies, and we will be able to more easily exert influence to take our proposals to the Algarve,” he said.

The head of the list acknowledged that it was "difficult to elect" due to the number of deputies that the Algarve places in the Assembly of the Republic, but pointed to a "possible election" in the future.

Regarding Chega's victory in the Algarve – where he had more votes than PS and Aliança Democrática (AD) -, Rodrigo Teixeira admitted that he was “not happy”.

«But I would also like to note that the majority of votes from the Algarve went to democratic parties», he added.

In the Legislatures this Sunday, March 10th, Chega was the party with the most votes (27,19%) in the Algarve and elected 3 deputies: Pedro Pinto, João Graça and Sandra Ribeiro.

This is followed by the PS (25,46%), with 3 others – Jamila Madeira, Jorge Botelho and Luís Graça –, and finally the AD (22,39%), which elected the same number of parliamentarians – Miguel Pinto Luz, Cristóvão Norte and Ofélia Ramos.
