Six hotels and tourist developments in the Algarve were distinguished with awards at European level, at the World Travel Awards Europe 2024, the winners of which were announced yesterday, Wednesday, in Berlin.
The Pestana Alvor Praia, in Portimão (Europe's Leading Beach Hotel), the W Algarve, in Albufeira (Europe's Leading Lifestyle Hotel), the Conrad Algarve, in Quinta do Lago (Europe's Leading Lifestyle Resort), the Wyndham Grand Algarve, also in Quinta do Lago (Europe's Leading Luxury All-Suite Resort), the Dunas Douradas Beach Club, in Almancil (Europe's Leading Resort Villas) and the Cascade Wellness Resort, in Lagos (Europe's Leading Sports Resort), are the Algarve developments awarded with the so-called “ tourism Oscars”.
At a national level, the Pestana Group stood out, with four more award-winning units, in addition to Pestana Alvor Praia.

Created in 1993, the World Travel Awards value the best practices in the global tourism sector, from the perspective of more than 200 professionals and the general public. After this European edition, the ceremony for the Middle East and Indian Ocean geographies, as well as the Caribbean and the Americas, will follow in May, while the awards for the African continent will be revealed in October. This year's grand final gala takes place on the island of Madeira, on November 24th.
