The Municipality of São Brás de Alportel this year reinforced the Municipal Support Plan for Associativism, an investment of more than half a million euros in the municipality's cultural, sporting and social dynamics, which involves the entire municipality's community.
The association support program contracts were formalized this Tuesday, February 26th. The 554.313,50 euros are also added, throughout the year, to other support for non-regular activities, not only in monetary format but also of a logistical nature, to support activities carried out by the remaining group of communities that carry out activities of a non-regular nature. in the municipality.
This year, 23 Cooperation Protocols and Sports Development Program Contracts were established with 21 local associations.
«Despite all the difficulties that the War in Ukraine and, more recently, the War in the Middle East, which follow a pandemic crisis, are also creating in the management of the municipal budget, investing in our associations is investing in people and quality of life in our municipality, with this associative dynamic being one of the attractive factors of our municipality", highlighted the mayor Vitor Guerreiro, in front of the associative leaders, whose work he praised, recognizing their persistence in the face of the difficulties that have arisen in recent four years to maintain and carry out activities.
Vitor Guerreiro also highlighted that the 2024 Municipal Support Plan for Associations prioritized support for the training component of sports clubs and cultural associations to the detriment of events, as well as reinforcing the amount of support for associations that intend to invest in the acquisition of their own vehicles to carry out its activities, which now amounts to up to 10 thousand euros.
The Municipal Support Plan for Associativism also covers cooperation protocols with other local associations from other areas, but of relevant interest to the municipality, such as: the São Brás de Alportel Farmers Association, the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of São Brás of Alportel, the Coração100Dono - Association for the Defense and Protection of Abandoned Animals and the Santa Casa da Misericórdia – Museu do Traje de São Brás de Alportel.
