PSP arrests 6 people in the last 24 hours for driving without a license and drunk

During Operation Carnival in Security

In the last 24 hours, the PSP arrested six people for the crimes of driving without a legal license and driving while drunk, in the cities of Faro, Portimão and Lagos.

The arrests take place within the scope of the National Inspection Plan (2024), which has led the PSP to carry out several road inspection actions aimed at the main causes of road accidents, with these actions being intensified during Operation Carnival in Safety, in all cities of the Algarve in which PSP is present.

In addition to the road crimes for which the six drivers were arrested, the inspection actions allowed the detection of around 20 violations of the Highway Code and the seizure of several doses of hashish.

In the last 24 hours, 14 accidents were recorded, without any serious injuries or deaths.
