Marta Hugon, Elisa Rodrigues and Joana Alegre sing «Calíope» in Lagoa

Singers Marta Hugon, Joana Alegre and Elisa Rodrigues perform the show «Calíope», at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, in Lagoa, on March 8, at 19pm, culminating several activities in connection with International Women's Day.

«Calíope» is an Artistic Creation and Awareness Project on Gender Equality. Its main objective is to transform the public's perception of the role of women in the music industry, giving visibility to a group of composers who give voice to their own creations and embody the possibility of creating and commanding their own artistic career.

The album, released in 2023, includes the creations and performances of nine Portuguese-language artists – A Garina Não, Aline Frazão, Ana Bacalhau, Elisa Rodrigues, Joana Alegre, Joana Espadinha, Joana Machado, Luísa Sobral and Marta Hugon (author of the project ) – to celebrate creation in the feminine.

With artistic direction by Marta Hugon and musical direction by Luís Figueiredo, «Calíope» had its presentation concert on International Women's Day (March 08, 2023), selling out the Maria Matos Theater in Lisbon.

Now on tour, «Calíope» presents a sumptuous musical cloak that serves the voices of three of the creative muses who, in this show, elevate the works of the other singer-songwriters who narrate the album: Marta Hugon, Elisa Rodrigues and Joana Alegre.
