Aging, poverty and mental health are in focus at the “50 years of Social Inclusion” Meeting

Meeting is part of the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the 25th of April 1974, in Portimão

The “50 years of Social Inclusion” Meeting, scheduled for the morning of February 23rd, will bring together, in the small auditorium of TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão, experts in this area, who will speak in a summary manner on topics such as aging, poverty and mental health.

The opening session, scheduled for 10 am, will be in charge of the president of Portimão City Council Isilda Gomes, followed by the topic “Mental Health – Yesterday and today”, by José Carlos de Sousa Araújo, president of Casa do People of São Bartolomeu de Messines and representative of the services belonging to the National Network of Continuous Integrated Care in Mental Health – Socio-Occupational Unit and Home Support Team.

The program continues with the topics “Aging – more than an age, a way of being”, by Luísa Pinheiro, president of Associação Cabelos Brancos, and “Poverty – evolution in the last 50 years”, by Ricardo Oliveira, from ISMAT – Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes, finishing the work with a debate open to the audience.

The Meeting is part of the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the 25th of April 1974, promoted by the Municipality of Portimão.
