This Sunday's Loulé Carnival parade has been canceled

To prevent the party from being ruined during the three days

Loulé City Council decided to cancel the first day of the Loulé Carnival parade, scheduled for this Sunday, February 11, «after consulting several entities linked to the weather forecast».

According to the event organizers, «even if the weather improves in the afternoon, the rain predicted for the moments before the start of the parade could jeopardize the entire logistics of the parade, in particular the costumes and decorations».

This is because “the floats need to be in place some time before the start of the party and, as they are decorated with paper flowers, they could be damaged by the rain, ruining the work carried out in recent weeks and compromising the two other days of the parade. ».

It is to prevent the party from being ruined over the three days that the 14 floats and 600 extras that this year bring the theme “Discovering the SDGs” take to the streets only on Monday and Tuesday of Carnival, this last day the highlight of the festivities.

Loulé City Council also announces that anyone who purchased a ticket for Sunday will be able to use it on the following two days.

The Municipality appeals «for everyone's understanding and expects the presence of many revelers on the 12th and 13th of February for a Carnival full of moments of joy and fun».
