Aljezur supports Volunteer Firefighters in purchasing a new ambulance

The meeting, where this support was decided, took place on February 1st

Aljezur City Council will support the Volunteer Firefighters, with around 73 thousand euros, to buy a new ambulance.

The meeting, where this support was decided, took place on February 1st.

The Medical Emergency Station (PEM) of the Aljezur Fire Department was created more than four decades ago, under an agreement with INEM and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, using type B ambulances and a garrison of two or three firefighters with appropriate and specialized training, within the scope of the SIEM.

In 2011, the PEM of the Aljezur Volunteer Firefighters became part of INEM's National Automatic External Defibrillation Program, providing better and efficient assistance to victims of cardiorespiratory arrest.
