«The most recent results regarding the performance of tourist activity in 2023 attest to the Algarve's continued success and position the region as the country's main tourist destination. With a sum of records, from the number of guests to the revenue from tourist accommodation, from golf rounds to the passengers flown at Faro, these results are testimony to the success of tourist activity in the Algarve and it is extremely important to use this impulse to qualify resources, train people and raise awareness in organizations and companies for the future positioning of the region”, concluded André Gomes.

This offer comes following a survey that Turismo do Algarve and Turismo de Portugal launched, to assess training needs within the business sector, «with a view to identifying priority areas of competence, and trends in the sector were also analyzed».

«The Portuguese Tourism Schools Network then created a set of programs in different areas that can be attended entirely or in blocks, depending on needs. Content adapted to the sector and applicable to different areas of tourism activity were then developed. At a later stage, the application of the content in a professional context will be evaluated, aiming to introduce possible improvements», conclude the two entities.
