Turismo do Algarve and Turismo de Portugal are carrying out an assessment of the training needs of professionals in the regional tourism sector, with the aim of “raising the level of skills and the quality of the service offered to tourists”, and they are asking companies to make their contribution to this survey, until Wednesday, December 27th.

Companies, whose “active participation is essential to the success of this initiative”, are invited to complete and submit a questionnaire, available at this link.

The diagnosis that is being made also involves the Hospitality and Tourism Schools of Faro, Portimão and Vila Real de Santo António.

André Gomes, president of Turismo do Algarve, considers that «the training of professionals in the sector is an essential pillar for the excellence of the service provided. We are committed not only to raising the skills of active professionals, but also to encouraging the continuous training of human resources in companies».

«We count on the contribution of companies to this diagnosis. Together, we will be able to direct efforts and resources to the areas most in need, ensuring a training offer aligned with the demands of the tourism sector», he added.

This diagnosis of training needs, carried out in conjunction with regional entities and associations, «seeks to identify existing gaps in the knowledge and skills of human resources in the sector. Based on this survey, a calendar of free training will be drawn up to be offered throughout 2024», according to Turismo do Algarve.

«This joint action aims to strengthen and qualify the regional tourism sector, enhancing the Algarve as a destination of excellence», concludes the same entity.
