Direct adjustment allows you to maintain Portimão/Bragança air connection for now

The service was scheduled to end next Wednesday, February 28th, due to the fact that the international public tender was delayed

A direct agreement between the Government and Sevenair will allow us to maintain, for now, the air connection between Portimão and Bragança, assured the Sul Informação, a company administrator.

Speaking to our newspaper, Carlos Amaro explained that this direct adjustment, of around 750 thousand euros, should come into effect from February 29th.

The service was scheduled to end next Wednesday, February 28th, due to the fact that the international public tender was delayed.

The approval by the Council of Ministers of authorizing the expenditure of 13,5 million euros only took place on February 7th, which complicated the process.

Now, there is a provisional solution that, «at least, will prevent the end of service», according to Carlos Amaro.

«There will be a direct adjustment, of less than 750 thousand euros, which will last around three and a half months, starting on February 29th», added this official.

This solution, which has also been confirmed by a source from the State Secretariat for Infrastructure to Jornal de Notícias, will also «allow us to maintain jobs, which is excellent news», the administrator of Seven Air also said, in his statements to Sul Informação.

In relation to the competition, whose launch date is not yet known, the company maintains the same position it had before this direct adjustment.

«We will evaluate the specifications, before knowing whether we compete», explained Carlos Amaro.

Last year, Seven Air transported more than 10 thousand passengers on this route – which departs from Portimão and has stops in Tires (Cascais), Viseu and Vila Real until reaching Bragança.
