500 years of Camões marked with a concert in Faro

Entry is free, but registration is required

The 500th anniversary of the birth of Luís Vaz de Camões will be marked this Sunday, March 3rd, at 17:30 pm, with a concert at Teatro Lethes, in Faro. 

The show is promoted by the Union of Parishes of Faro.

This concert, hosted by the renowned group Vox Angelis, has the support of RTP, the Camões Institute, Tourism of Portugal, the National Arts Plan, the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and ACTA, which provided the Lethes Theater so that this initiative was carried out.

During the show, some of Camões' most famous sonnets will be performed musically, in a version by singer, cello and piano, such as “Alma minha gentil que te partiste” and “Love is fire that burns without being seen”.

The musical concert with an unprecedented documentary about the poet's life with projections of paintings by great Portuguese painters, such as Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro and José Malhoa.

Lasting an hour and a half, this unprecedented and original show will be a historical-musical biographical journey of one of the most important characters in our history.

Entry is free, but registration is required, and registration is limited to the capacity of the room.
