The euro zone's annual inflation rate accelerated in December to 2,9%, compared to 2,4% in November, according to a flash estimate released today by Eurostat, interrupting the downward trend of the last seven months.
In the euro zone, the European Union's statistical service points to a slowdown in December in the underlying inflation rate (the one that calculates price developments without taking into account the most volatile elements) to 3,4%, a value that compares with the 3,6% from November 2023.
In December 2022, the eurozone's annual inflation rate was 9,2%.
