Preventive detention for drug dealers who kidnapped consumers to collect drug debts

Os two men arrested on January 27th, in Lagos, for drug trafficking and kidnapping consumers to collect debts, they were placed in preventive detention, announced this Wednesday, January 31st, the District of Faro. 

The young people, aged 21 and 22 – who since July last year had been selling cocaine, heroin, hashish and crack for between 20 and 80 euros, in the vicinity of Largo da Alegria, in Odiáxere – were arrested for committing trafficking crimes of drugs, robbery, qualified theft, extortion and kidnapping.

According to the District of Faro, on January 4th, the detainees handcuffed a 30-year-old man so they could enter his home and steal his cell phone and money from his housemates.

On the 13th, in Lagos, the defendants physically dominated another man, aged 27, “and with him under control, they went to his sister's house, where they demanded two thousand euros from him under the threat of physically attacking him. The sister, fearing that the threat would come true, after negotiation, handed over 500 euros».

On the 27th, in the city of Lagos, the defendants placed these two victims in the trunk of the car and drove around the city.

During the journey, they seized 4 euros belonging to the 30-year-old man and demanded the 27-year-old victim pay the amount of 500 euros. Along the way, they removed the 30-year-old victim from the car and used a baseball bat to attack her on the knees and shoulders.
