Luís Conceição takes music to the Ermida de São Sebastião, in Tavira

As part of the program “Music in the Churches”

Pianist and composer Luís Conceição will bring music to the Ermida de São Sebastião, in Tavira, this Saturday, January 13th, at 18pm. 

In this initiative, which takes place within the scope of the “Music in the Churches” program, Luís Conceição will interpret works by Beethoven, Chopin and improvise his original works.

Luís Conceição graduated in Musical Sciences, at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and in Piano, at the University of Évora. He has a master's degree in Music Teaching from ISEIT (Piaget).

He worked as a pianist accompanist, piano teacher and music history teacher at several national conservatories. He is currently a professor of piano and music history at the Academia de Música de Tavira.

As a pianist and composer, he performed in several national and international venues, solo and in chamber formations, choirs and orchestras. His professional composition activity began in 1993, and to date he has produced around 300 musical works.

“Music in the Churches” aims, according to the Municipality of Tavira, to “boost built heritage, as well as promote a taste for music”.

The concerts take place on Saturdays and are aimed at the general public.
