The traditional Encontro de Janeiras takes place on the 7th of January, starting at 18:30 pm, in the Cultural and Recreational Hall of the Guia Parish Council.
The event is organized by the Guia Parish Council and will end the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The invited groups are the Grupo de Cantares da Guia, Grupo “Força da Tradição” by Paderne Entretenga and the Grupo de Cantares de Janeiras from Sociedade Recreativa Alcantarilhanse.
Admission is free.
As for Guia’s “Street Nativity Scene”, it can be seen this weekend.
It is a route designed by the sculpture Toin Adams, with 30 figures measuring more than 300 meters between the Main Church and the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Guia.
