Castro Marim Firefighters and VRSA “win” strategic cooperation plan

On the institution's 134th anniversary

The Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Vila Real de Santo António (VRSA) and Castro Marim received a new strategic cooperation plan as a gift at the celebration of its 134th anniversary, which took place on Saturday, January 20th.

This plan, within the scope of Municipal Civil Protection, was signed between the Municipality of Castro Marim and the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of VRSA and Castro Marim and “provides for the acquisition of personal protective equipment for the study, combat and integrated management of rural fire , in defending the forest against fires or urban fires», according to the Castro-Marinense municipality.

«An operations plan will also be created for the establishment and operation of the Intermunicipal Emergency and Civil Protection Center between the municipal civil protection services of Castro Marim and VRSA and the fire department», he added.

Also planned is «the provision of facilities in Azinhal for pre-positioning the fire department during rural fire alert periods».

For Francisco Amaral, mayor of Castro Marim, the new leadership team of the humanitarian association has demonstrated "professionalism" and "stability in carrying out its missions", with the contribution of "serenity and the spirit of unity between the municipalities and the association humanitarian”.

Francisco Amaral also recalled that «conditions were created to achieve financial stability, which in the case of the Municipality of Castro Marim, resulted in an increase in support for firefighters by more than seven times, in the short period of five years».

In his speech, the president of the Municipality of Castro Marim also highlighted “economic and functional stability”, which are “vectors of trust and teamwork”, in addition to “the lack of borders for assistance between municipalities”.
