A 43-year-old man was arrested by the Southern Directorate of the Judiciary Police, in Albufeira, suspected of sexual abuse against a minor “from his family circle”.
According to the PJ, the arrest complied with an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office, Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Albufeira, «due to strong evidence of the commission of several crimes against sexual freedom and self-determination».
The sexual assaults took place “over the course of three years”, having started when the victim was 13 years old, only stopping after the minor herself, to put an end to the situation, told her mother about the case, who did complaint to the police authorities.
«The abusive conduct always took place in an environment controlled by the suspect», «inside the house where the family lived together», adds the Judiciary.
Present in court, the man was prohibited from contacting the minor, as well as being forced to leave the house, “fixing his domicile in a different location”.
