Tavira serves “Slices of Poetry” on Three Kings Day

Initiative is promoted by Ana Teresa Andrade

The Tavira Municipal Library will serve “Slices of Poetry”, by Ana Teresa Andrade, on January 6th, Three Kings Day, at 15:30 pm.

The session, aimed at children between 6 and 12 years old and lasting approximately 45 minutes, promotes the reading and discussion of poems by different authors.

This will be, according to the Chamber of Tavira, «a journey around the work of writers such as Miguel Torga, Luísa Ducla Soares, António Gedeão, José Jorge Letria, Alberto Caeiro, Hélder Moura Pereira and others. Throughout these activities, children have the opportunity to debate the content of the poems and reflect on their meaning – the objective is to stimulate creativity in writing and encourage reading habits of different contents».

At the end of the actions, and following the motto of poet Natália Correia who wrote “Poetry is for eating”, participants will have the opportunity to snack on a slice of cake.
