The 10th edition of the Sophia Student event, promoted by the Portuguese Cinema Academy (APC), will take place from the 22nd to the 25th of February, in Albufeira. This year, the event will be dedicated to the theme “Series”.
The Albufeira Municipal Auditorium and the João Bailote Municipal Gallery will once again be the meeting places for cinema and audiovisual students from all over the country, providing a unique opportunity to promote new emerging talents in this area.
The program for the 10th edition of Sophia Student will be diverse, with masterclasses, workshops, poster exhibitions, cinema sessions, short film competitions, among other activities that will be revealed soon.
The graphic identity for the event was chosen through a national competition aimed at design students across the country. The winning proposal was presented by Juliana Santos, from the Escola Superior de Media, Artes e Design (ESMAD). Mariana Moura Carvalho and Beatriz Ribeiro, both from ESMAD, received special mention for reaching 2nd and 3rd place.
The list of nominees for Sophia Student 2024 will be revealed on January 16th, with streaming broadcast on the official website and social networks of the Portuguese Cinema Academy.
