The BE National Board approved this Saturday, December 16th, the first names on the party's lists for early elections

MEP José Gusmão will once again be the head of the Left Bloc's list for the Algarve in the next Legislative Elections on March 10th.

This Saturday, December 16th, BE's National Board approved the first names on the party's lists for early elections, with José Gusmão being one of them.

The MEP, an economist by training, had already been the head of the list for the Algarve in the 2022 Legislatures, having failed to be elected.

Secondly, in the list by constituency of Faro, goes Guadalupe Simões, former leader of the Portuguese Nurses Union (SEP).

José Gusmão has been an MEP since 2019 and was also a deputy in the Assembly of the Republic in the XI Legislature (2009-2011).

Between 2011 and 2018, he worked as an assistant at the European Parliament, with Miguel Portas and Marisa Matias.

An economist by training, he has a degree from the Higher Institute of Economics and Management (ISEG), where he was part of the direction of the Student Association and the University Senate.

The BE National Board also approved the names of Mariana Mortágua (coordinator of the Block) and Marisa Matias as heads of the list for Lisbon and Porto, respectively.
