A 28-year-old man was arrested in Odeceixe for trying to kill his brother with a chainsaw this Tuesday, December 5th.
According to the Judiciary Police, after an argument between the two brothers, the attacker took a chainsaw and ripped apart the door of the container where the victim was lying, attacking her and inflicting several blows.
Initially transported to the Emergency Room at Hospital de Portimão, the victim was later transferred to Hospital de Santa Maria, in Lisbon, due to the severity of the injuries.
The detainee, aged 28, a woodcutter by profession and with no criminal record, will be present for the first judicial interrogation to apply coercive measures.
The Criminal Investigation department of Portimão had the collaboration of the GNR Territorial Post of Lagos.
The Inquiry is conducted by the Lagos Public Prosecutor's Office.
