A glocal Faro made public an appeal for participation in the public consultation process of the Environmental Impact Study of Desalination Station to be built in Albufeira, which is running until December 19th.
For the movement of Algarve citizens, this process could be «the beginning of unrestrained public investment in desalination stations on the Portuguese coast».
According to the EIA, the main impact of the desalination plant will be the effects of the rejection of brine in the sea.
