EMARP, STAL and SINTAP sign Company Agreement

The Municipal Water and Waste Company of Portimão (EMARP), the Local Administration Workers' Union (STAL) and the Public Administration Workers' Union (SINTAP) gathered consensus and signed on December 22nd the Company Agreement (AE ).

The agreement, negotiated jointly with both workers' union representatives, is "a significant milestone in labor relations and in the commitment to the well-being of workers, improving their working conditions and creating a greater capacity to attract and retain employees people in a work context with enormous turnover», says EMARP in a note.

In this context, in addition to the reinforcement of social benefits and new measures to reconcile personal life with professional life, in the pecuniary aspect, the remuneration increases observed for the majority of workers stand out, the expression of which followed the principle approved for public administration, having as reference to a 40-hour working week.

This agreement constitutes, according to EMARP, «a fundamental step towards the existence of social peace in a company whose mission is to provide essential public services 24 hours a day, seven days a week».
