camera of Faro draws spaces for street vending and trailers

Applications are open until January 13th

The Chamber of Faro opened a procedure for the allocation, by lottery, of spaces for street sales and the “provision of food services or non-sedentary drinks” (mobile trailers and carts), in various parts of the municipality, in the year 2024.

For the street vending exercise, the following spaces are up for competition: A place next to the boat bridge on the island of Farol; two places in Largo de S. Luís, in front of the Estádio de S. Luís, only on event days (sporting activities or games); seven places in the Cemitério da Esperança, in Faro (only on religious festivals); three places next to the new cemetery Faro (only on religious festivals); a place in Largo do Povo, Montenegro; two places in Largo dos Arcos, Praia de Faro; a place in Largo Comandante Jacques Ives Cousteau, Praia de Faro; four places on Rua 25 de Abril, next to the Cemitério da Conceição de Faro (only on religious festivals); three places on Rua Estácio Veiga, next to the Estoi cemetery (only during religious festivals); three places in front of the Santa Bárbara de Nexe cemetery (only during religious festivals).

For the provision of catering or beverage services, «four spaces are available for trailers, trailers or similar at the Estádio de S. Luís (during events) and one space, of the same type, at CM1320, Areal Fat, with a maximum area of ​​10 square meters».

«For pushcarts or similar vehicles (only for the sale of roasted chestnuts) a space will be available at Praça D. Francisco Gomes and Jardim Manuel Bívar; three places on Ruas D. Francisco Gomes and Rua de Santo António; a place in Praça Ferreira de Almeida and a place in Largo do Carmo. There are also two places available next to the Hospital; a place on Rua Padre António Patrício, in Gambelas; a place in Largo da Igreja, Conceição; a place in Largo Ossónoba, Estoi and a place on Avenida Eng.º Duarte Pacheco, Santa Bárbara de Nexe», according to the Chamber of Faro.

Applications can be sent to the email [email protected] or delivered to Loja do Cidadão, located in the Municipal Market building, until 17pm on the 00th business day counting from the publication of notice 10/253 (January 2023, 12).

Candidates can compete until January 12th.

«The form must be accompanied by the title for carrying out the activity of street vendor, issued by the General Directorate of Economic Activities (DGAE) or a copy of the mere prior communication, presented via Balcão do Empreendedor or Declaration of initiation or change of activity providing non-sedentary restaurant or beverage services; declaration of regularized contribution status with Social Security; declaration of regularized tax situation regarding taxes owed in Portugal».

According to the Regulation, the granting of the right to occupy public space “is carried out through a selection procedure such as a draw, if there is more than one interested party admitted to the same place. The draw will be held on a date to be defined in due course».
