the earthquake magnitude 3.4 (Richter), whose epicenter was located in the mountains, about 8 km east-northeast of Monchique, was felt this Sunday, November 5th, both in the Algarve and Alentejo.

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the earthquake «did not cause personal or material damage», but «was felt with maximum intensity IV/V (modified Mercalli scale) in the municipalities of Albufeira and Lagoa».

It was also felt with less intensity in the municipalities of Beja, Monchique, Portimão and Silves.

If you also felt the earthquake, you can help IPMA, which wants to map the extent of the effects of the earthquakes felt, by filling out a short questionnaire, available here.
