The 29 year old, who tried to stab his 23-year-old partner to death, in the room where she slept with his daughter, in the municipality of Olhão, was in preventive detention, revealed this Friday, November 3, the Public Ministry (MP).
According to the MP, the crime took place on the night of Tuesday, October 31st, to Wednesday, November 1st, in a room in the house where they both lived.
The man allegedly tried to have sex with his partner, who refused, which led him to drink alcohol.
Later, armed with a knife, he tried to have sex again, but, faced with a new refusal, he stabbed her in the “legs, abdomen and back”.
According to the Judiciary Police (PJ), the attacks were only interrupted because the owner of the house, a friend of the couple, alerted by the situation, broke down “the bedroom door” and “intervened to help the victim, removing and disarming the attacker.” , preventing homicide.
The victim was rescued at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve.
The investigation is under the responsibility of the Southern Directorate of the Judiciary Police.
