Fernando Mendes and José Praia and Aqua Viva are just some of the shows that the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium will host in the month of December, dedicated to Christmas.
Starting the month, on the 2nd, Fernando Mendes takes the stage and presents his latest scenic show. “Insomnia” is the name of the play that tells the story of Custódio Reis, a wine and liquor seller who lives with a rope around his neck.
Tickets cost 10 euros and can be purchased at Galeria Municipal João Bailote and on the day of the show, from 19:30 pm to 21:15 pm.
The following week, on December 8th, traditional and popular Portuguese roots music will be highlighted in the show celebrating 35 years of José Praia and Aqua Viva's career. This show will present his last
record work entitled “Encantos do Algarve”.
The group was formed in Albufeira in 1988 by José Praia, originally from Minho, and his sons, Alberto Jorge, Gonçalo João and Miguel Nuno. After some time, he was integrated into the group João Leandro and his concertina.
Joining this show are Grupo Entretenga and Grupo Coral da Casa do Alentejo de Albufeira.
The show is free to enter, subject to room capacity and tickets must be collected on the day of the concert, from 20:30 pm to 21:15 pm, at the Municipal Auditorium ticket office.
