Teaching how to make Christmas cards is the objective of a workshop that artist Filipa Carvalho will organize on December 3rd, from 10:00 to 12:30, na Mestre Fernando Rodrigues School of Arts, in Lagoa.
The “Engraving Workshop – Christmas Cards” will be open to the general public, aged 12 and over.
To create the postcards, the engraving technique will be used, «which allows the reproduction of a printed image obtained through a matrix», according to the Câmara de Lagoa.
At the end, participants can take their postcard home and send it to their loved ones or personalize their gifts.
«Filipa Carvalho started her engraving practice in 2016 in Switzerland with a local artist, where she learned several techniques. She then attended the Engraving course at the Mart school in Lisbon, where she was able to deepen her knowledge and begin her first artistic works. She collaborated with Casa do Artesão, in Alte, producing works in the area of engraving and screen printing, and now, residing in Lagoa, she intends to share her knowledge of this technique with the general population", adds the municipality.
