camera of Faro guarantees financing for intervention in Arco da Vila

Within the scope of the investment “RE-CO4-i02 – Cultural Heritage” of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), in the global amount of 250 thousand euros

The financing contract intended to carry out the Arco da Vila structural consolidation investment project was signed yesterday, November 22nd, by the Municipality of Faro and the Cultural Heritage Safeguarding Fund.

The financing for the intervention in this property, owned by the State and classified as a national monument, takes place within the scope of the investment “RE-CO4-i02 – Cultural Heritage” of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), providing financial support corresponding to the entire cost of the investment project, in the global amount of 250 thousand euros.

The investment project in question will be completed by the end of 2025.

The protocol signing ceremony, which took place at the Municipal Chamber of Faro, was attended by the president of the Municipal Council of Faro Rogério Bacalhau, the general director of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and president of the Board of Directors of the Cultural Heritage Safeguarding Fund João Santos and the regional director of Algarve Culture Adriana Nogueira.

In a note, the Chamber of Faro explains that this financing allows us to guarantee the requalification intervention of what is a classified monument and one of the city's main icons for locals and tourists who visit our city.
