José Apolinário spoke at the opening of the Partridge Fair

José Apolinário called for the mobilization of the region in the implementation of the Algarve's water efficiency plan, around the economic viability of a water supply connection between the Alqueva Dam and the Odeleite Dam and the future Foupana Dam.

The president of the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) made the statements at the opening of the Feira da Perdiz, an initiative of the Municipality of Alcoutim, defending regional consensus around the availability of new sources of water supply.

José Apolinário also showed that he considers it urgent to execute the funds for the projects listed in the water efficiency plan of the
Recovery and Resilience (PRR), but also prepare the post-PRR, with the beginning of work on the economic and technical feasibility of a water pipeline in the 77 kilometers between the Alqueva and Odeleite dams, as well as the Foupana Dam project.

The president of CCDR Algarve also highlighted the importance of the new 2021-2027 community framework, the continuity of the Endogenous Resources Development Action Plan (PADRE) in the ALGARVE 2030 Regional Program, focusing on rural and low-density territories, with the implementation of actions for the economic valorization of endogenous resources, with a view to economic diversification.

In this 14th edition of the Partridge Fair, companies and associations linked to the hunting, fishing and rural development sectors returned to Martinlongo, offering various activities such as exhibitions of hunting species, handicrafts, equestrian activities, children's activities, dog competitions, packs and honey competition, and beekeeping production.
