114 arrested in the last week in the Algarve

52 stand out for driving under the influence of alcohol, 28 for driving without a legal license and three for drug trafficking.

Between the 30th of October and the 5th of November, the GNR detained 114 people in the Algarve, as part of the weekly operation to prevent and combat violent crime and road inspection. 

Of the 114 detained, 52 stood out for driving under the influence of alcohol, 28 for driving without a legal license and three for drug trafficking. 

During this period, 825 cartridges, 73 doses of hashish, 70 ammunition, two shotguns, a pistol, an airsoft pistol, a karambit knife, a butterfly knife, a brass knuckle, andm pepper gas.

In transit were detected 473 infractions: 101 due to speeding, 71 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems, 37 due to lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 20 due to lack of civil liability insurance, 20 due to lack of or incorrect use of seat belts and/or restraint systems for children and nine for improper use of a cell phone while driving.

Between October 30th and November 5th, there were 126 accidents, which resulted in two serious injuries and 26 minor injuries.
