Vila Galé saved 7.263 meals and avoided the emission of 18,2 tons of CO2, the equivalent of 48 plane trips between Lisbon and London, for example, in the first year of presence on the Too Good To Go app.
After joining on September 29th last year, World Day Against Food Waste, 12 of the group's units in Portugal are currently part of the Too Good To Go network, which allows surplus food from participating establishments to be used at reduced prices, through “surprise bags”.
At the hotels Vila Galé Porto, Vila Galé Porto Ribeira, Vila Galé Coimbra, Vila Galé Ópera (Lisbon), Vila Galé Lagos, Vila Galé Náutico (Armação de Pêra), Vila Galé Atlântico (Praia da Galé), Vila Galé Cerro Alagoa (Albufeira) ), Vila Galé Ampalius (Vilamoura), Vila Galé Marina (Vilamoura), Vila Galé Tavira and Vila Galé Albacora (Tavira) breakfast baskets are available for 2,99 euros.
The “surprise bags” include two pieces of bakery, a portion of mini sausage and three mini pieces of pastry and can be collected every day at these hotels between 11 am and 00:12 pm.
Another option is the brunch surprise bag, priced at 3,99 euros, available on Sundays at the hotels Vila Galé Porto, Vila Galé Porto Ribeira, Vila Galé Coimbra and Vila Galé Ópera (Lisbon).
At the Algarve units – Vila Galé Lagos, Vila Galé Náutico (Armação de Pera) and Vila Galé Cerro Alagoa (Albufeira) – it is also possible to order lunch and dinner for 4,99 euros.
These surprise bags contain two pieces of bakery, a soup or a salad, a dish of the day and a dessert.
To purchase the surprise bags, simply download the Too Good To Go app for free, through which payment is also processed. The collection is made at the collection point selected by the user.
