Theater, exhibitions, tributes and much more at the Lagos Municipality Day celebration

Program runs until October 30th

A show signed by the Teatro Nacional Dona Maria II, exhibitions, concerts, cinema, book presentations and tributes are part of the program to celebrate Lagos Municipality Day, which will be celebrated on October 27th.

One of the highlights of the party, which started yesterday and runs until the 30th of October, takes place on the 26th, with the stage of the show “Still Marianas”, a production by the Teatro Nacional Dona Maria II (Odysseia Nacional) in partnership with the Lagos City Council, which marks the reopening of the Lagos Cultural Center after carrying out conservation and adaptation works.

The protocol program takes place on October 27th, within which tributes will be paid to citizens and local entities. The municipal bodies decided, this year, to publicly recognize the journey of six citizens, two companies and a sports association, approving the attribution of two Medals of Municipal Merit – Gold Grade and seven Medals of Municipal Merit – Silver Grade, in a ceremony that begins at 14:30 pm and takes place at the Lagos Cultural Center.

«Workers with more seniority working in the municipality and parishes will also be distinguished in a lapel pin imposition ceremony that will take place in stages at various times throughout the festivities program», according to Lagos City Council.

The program, which can be consulted in full here, also includes exhibitions of visual arts and collectibles, concerts, cinema, book presentations, a crafts show and special conditions for access to sports and museum equipment, among others, complete the entertainment program.
