Tavira families who want to benefit from help to pay their house rent will be able to apply for the Municipal Rental Support Program between the 2nd and 15th of November.
This Tavira City Council initiative aims to «assist households that are in a situation of actual or imminent housing shortage and are economically incapable of paying their entire rent, within the scope of a rental contract».
“National and foreign citizens holding valid permits to remain in the national territory, adults or emancipated, who have rented or intend to rent in the municipality of Tavira and meet the conditions established in the regulations can access the program”, describes the municipality.
For this purpose, candidates must be holders of a lease contract, duly registered with the Tax Authority, or be holders of a lease promise contract.
To formalize the application, the resident must schedule an appointment with the services, via email ([email protected]), telephone contact (281 320 589) or in person (Division of Social Affairs, located on Rua da Liberdade, nº 60, in Tavira).
Upon formalization, the application form must be submitted, that can be downloaded here, as well as the documents defined as necessary for the registration process.
