Tavira: Project “Listening and reading makes you grow!” launches new session for children

Project “Listening and reading makes you grow!” is being promoted until November

As part of the project “Listening and reading makes you grow!”, the session “There is no sound without movement – everything is rhythm” will take place on October 21st, at 15:30 pm, at the Álvaro de Campos Municipal Library, in Tavira ” by animator/trainer Sérgio de Almeida.

The initiative, lasting approximately 45 minutes, is aimed at children up to 3 years old (maximum 10 entries), accompanied by an adult.

«In the first stages of life, babies are particularly receptive to sounds, melodies, words, rhythms and cadences. In this activity, some traditional instruments and ancestral sounds will be used, through an educational and pedagogical approach to ethnic music. Instruments such as the tama, the African harp, the khrin, the tinarra, the didgeridoo, the djembé, among others, will allow you to harmoniously recreate a sequence of sounds from nature and play with words, providing a pleasant moment of musical discovery, awareness body and rhythmic sense", says the municipality.

Following this project, another action is also scheduled for November 18th.

«The sessions will allow for discovery and playful learning, exploring the imagination and motivating children and their families in order to create regular reading habits», believes the Câmara de Tavira, which reinforces that «reading is a process of construction, It is essential to accompany children on this journey».
