Rotary Clube de Loulé presents school recognition awards to students in the municipality

9th and 12th year students were awarded prizes

On the 14th of October, the Rotary Club of Loulé presented awards recognizing academic merit to the best students from public schools in the municipality, in the 9th and 12th years.

The event took place at Palácio Gama Lobo and was attended by the award-winning students, family, friends and directors of the Eng.º Duarte Pacheco School Group and Escola Secundária de Loulé and councilor Ana Machado, representing the City Council from Loulé.

The award ceremony was interspersed between two musical moments, provided by student Adriana Martins.

The award for best 9th year student was given to Laura Lima Rodrigues, from the Eng.º Duarte Pacheco School Group.

The award for best 12th year student was awarded to Eleazar Pereira, from Escola Secundária de Loulé.

Ana Machado highlighted the importance of this activity, «for the motivation of these students, who in the near future, in the
performing their professional duties, they will be able to give back, contributing to the development and well-being of communities».

Silvério Guerreiro, president of the club, highlighted that Rotary, within the scope of supporting education, has two applications for scholarships underway and the supply of equipment and materials to students with economic difficulties.

Rotary companions from Loulé clubs were present at this initiative: André Dias, Arlindo Martins,
André Gabriel, Luís Silva, Maria Helena Baptista, Mauro Figueiredo and Silvério Guerreiro.
