The Sítio das Fontes Municipal Park – Nature Interpretation Center, in Lagoa, hosts, on November 12th, at 10 am, the “Bonsai Workshop and Exhibition with Mediterranean species”.
This workshop will be organized by the Municipality of Lagoa in partnership with Clube Bonsai do Algarve (CBA). During the activity, there will be an exhibition of specimens, open to the public. At the end, participants will be able to take a tree that has already been worked on during the workshop.
In the form of a get-together, themes and myths of Bonsai art and techniques will be discussed, as well as basic knowledge on how to care for trees will be transmitted.
During the workshop there will also be the opportunity to talk about history, styles and characteristics, techniques (pruning, wiring, transplants, maintenance, watering, propagation), pests and diseases, soil and fertilization, pots and other materials.
There will also be a conversation about Mediterranean ecosystems and their natural and cultural values, as well as the importance of their preservation.
Participation is free, with mandatory registration here. Registration is limited to 12 participants and will be validated in order of entry.
