Ideias do Levante puts “Lagoa a Cantar”

Activities take place on the 21st and 22nd of October

The 12th edition of “Lagoa a Cantar”, which takes place on the 21st and 22nd of October, is now open for registration. 

As part of the LAGOA\VOX project, “Lagoa a Cantar”, organized by Ideias do Levante and the Municipality, is a free activity with registration limited to a maximum number of 20 trainees per workshop, with the exception of the vocal technique workshop with Carla Pontes , with a maximum of 10 trainees.

The aim of holding this event is to «provide the local community (and beyond) free of charge with various singing notes, singing workshops (for various levels), open rehearsals, awareness sessions, lectures, creation of vocal training, etc», refers to Ideas of the Levant.

On Saturday, October 21st, between 10am and 00pm, there will be an introduction to choral singing with teacher Maria Saramago. The activity is aimed at young people (from 12 years old) and adults, with or without singing experience.

«Basics of singing in a choir and learning two pieces that could be performed in one of the next Coral Ideias do Levante concerts. Students will be invited to participate in upcoming concerts», explains the organization.

On the same day, between 15pm and 00pm, “Singing in polyphony, an experience for everyone” takes place. The teacher is José Carlos Bago d'Uva. The activities were designed for children, teenagers and adults. Choralists, conductors, music teachers/students and those curious/interested in polyphonic music may also benefit from this training.

On Sunday, October 22nd, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, “Vozes – Voice and listening laboratory” took place, with professor Carla Pontes. The initiative is aimed at young people aged 16 and over and adults.

Between 15pm and 00pm there is “Vocal Technique and Interpretation” for young people aged 17 and over and adults, with or without singing experience, whether amateur or professional.
