Reading club dedicated to the secret life of trees and the sea opens in Tavira

First session is in October

The project “The secret life of trees and the sea”, a reading club that will meet monthly on Thursdays, between October and May, from 18pm and 00pm, will be launched on October 19th, at the Municipal Library Álvaro de Campos, in Tavira.

In total, eight sessions are scheduled, during which “participants will be able to enjoy sharing and reading the works “The Secret Life of Trees” by Peter Wohlleben, “The Man Who Planted Trees”, by Jean Giono, as well as poems over the trees and the sea», according to Tavira Council.

The actions will take place at the Municipal Library or in the green spaces of Tavira.

With “The secret life of trees and the sea”, an initiative by Sónia Pereira, «the aim is for participants to be co-authors of a scientific-poetic journey, starting from the oldest trees in the municipality, in order to explore, disseminate and preserve this natural heritage».

«The objective is to train nature readers and sow new ideas and approaches for the protection of urban and wild ecosystems, in addition, with this program it is possible to encourage increased concern for the environment», describes the municipality.

All sessions, aimed at people over 16 years of age, are free, but subject to a maximum number of 15 participants. Those interested in joining this club can sign up at the Library counter or via e-mail at [email protected]
