Vale do Lobo, Dunas Douradas Beach Club, Cascade Wellness Resort, Martinhal Sagres Beach Family Resort and Monte Santo Resort won first prizes in this year's edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA) Europe, which were announced this Friday, September 29th, during the ceremony of the 30th edition of what are considered the most prestigious awards in the tourism and travel industry.
In this edition of the WTA, as the Sul Informação already realized, the Algarve won, for the 10th time and fifth consecutive year, the title of “Best Beach Destination in Europe”. Portugal was, on the other hand, considered the Best Destination in Europe.
It was also in the competition that covers different European destinations that the five projects stood out.
Vale de Lobo was considered the Best Lifestyle Resort in Europe, while Dunas Douradas Beach Club, also located in the municipality of Loulé, received the award for Best Villas in Resorts in Europe.
The award for Best Sports Resort in Europe went to Cascade Wellness Resort (Lagos), Martinhal Sagres Beach Family Resort was distinguished as Best Villa Resort in Europe and Monte Santo Resort (Carvoeiro) was considered the Most Romantic Resort in Europe.
As for awards at national level, the Algarve was awarded eight.
The winners were: Pestana Alvor South Beach (Best Beach Resort in Portugal), Cascade Wellness Resort (Best Family Resort in Portugal), Conrad Algarve (Best Hotel in Portugal), Monte Santo Resort (Best Hotel Residences in Portugal), Infinity Penthouse @ Conrad Algarve (Best Hotel Suite in Portugal) Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort (Best Resort in Portugal), Pine Hills Vilamoura (Best Serviced Apartments in Portugal) and Dunas Douradas Beach Club (Best Villa Resort in Portugal).
