Bernardo Pinheiro tests Team Virage's LM P3 at Autódromo do Algarve

This is a test already looking at the year 2024

The Rookie Test 2023 European Le Mans Series will take place next Monday, October 23, with the participation of 21 cars, at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, where the Porto driver Bernardo Pinheiro will test Team Virage's LM P3.

AF Corse will put on the track a pair of new Ferrari 296 GT3s with LMGT3 specification in preparation for the introduction of the category in next season's ELMS.

There will be 2 cars in the LMP12 field on the track in this test, with some well-known names behind the wheel. 24 2013 Hours of Le Mans LMGTE AM winner and 2017 TCR International Champion Jean-Karl Vernay joins LMP3 championship leader Alejandro Garcia and Thai driver Carl Wattana Bennett in the No. 30 Duqueine Team Oreca for the day of test.

Michael Fassbender will have the opportunity to test an LMP2, with the actor driving the No. 99 Proton Competition Oreca alongside his LMGTE teammate Richard Lietz and the rival of the No. 16 Porsche, Matteo Cairoli.

Algarve Pro Racing will test 22-year-old Clement Novalak, former British BRDC F3 champion and third-placed overall in the 3 FIA Formula 2021 Championship. The Portuguese team will also test LMGTE driver Kriton Lentoudis, the Greek who will be alongside already-winning British GT4 championship Freddie Tomlinson in the No. 25 Oreca.

Asian Le Mans Series winner and former Michelin Le Mans Cup driver Christian Bogle will test for Nielsen Racing, while former UAE Championship winner Lorenzo Fluxa will also test an LMP2 with COOL Racing.

United Autosports USA will test American Bijoy Garg, with the 3 IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge LMP2023 champion getting behind the wheel of the number 22 Oreca.

Reigning Asian Le Mans Series LMP3 champion Vyacheslav Gutak will test the #19 Team Virage Oreca-Gibson. For MLMC GT3 favorite Tim Creswick there will be an LMP3 with Inter Europol Competition alongside Canadian Adam Ali. Danish Mathias Jakobsen will test at RLR MSport. The 17-year-old, who has two victories in the Danish F4 series this year, is no relation to 3 ELMS LMP2022 champion Malthe Jakobsen.

Bernardo Pinheiro will also participate in this test, driving the Team Virage Ligier JS P320 on a day in which the Romanian Mihnea Stefan and the British George King, with whom he shared the wheel of the Ligier JS P4 in the Ligier European Series this year 2023, will also test.

This is a test already looking at the year 2024 after a season in which the driver from Portimão stood out in the ranks of the competition promoted by Ligier.

The ELMS Rookie Test will be held in two 3-hour sessions on Monday, starting at 10:00 am for the first session, and 14:00 pm for the second.
