Algarve will have another 146 beds in the Continuing and Palliative Care network

In parallel, a Mental Health Home Support Team will also be created

The Algarve will have an additional 146 inpatient beds in the Continuing Care and Palliative Care network, with funding from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), announced this Tuesday, October 24th, the Regional Health Administration (ARS) of the Algarve. 

According to the ARS, an additional 120 beds are planned in the National Integrated Continuing Care Network and 26 in the National Palliative Care Network, making a total of 146.

In addition to this, there are another 25 places in the Day and Autonomy Promotion Unit and 106 in Integrated Continuous Mental Health Care Units.

In parallel, a Mental Health Home Support Team will also be created for the adult population. These teams, explains ARS, «work towards greater proximity between mental health services and the community, enabling adequate and more efficient intervention».
