The conference “Philosophy in the City”, by the scientist Nuno Maulide, will take place on the 15th of September, starting at 18 pm, in the auditorium of the Museum of Portimão.
This initiative is organized by a group of Philosophy students and teachers from Escola Secundária Manuel Teixeira Gomes.
With the usual partnership of Portimão City Council, this year's edition highlights Science and its relationship with Philosophy.
Nuno Maulide, director of the Institute of Organic Chemistry at the University of Vienna and pianist, will focus on the role of Chemistry in everyday life «and the surprising and fascinating relationship between science and music, interpreting some themes on the piano , on the stage of the Museum's auditorium», says the organization.
In the week of the return to school, Portimão will have the opportunity to attend a kind of “inaugural class” taught by a scientist who is also a musician.
