Morocco/Earthquake: New provisional balance adds 2.122 deaths and 2.421 injuries

The provisional balance of the strong earthquake that hit Morocco on Friday nightand today the number of deaths rose to 2122 and the number of injured to 2421, the Moroccan Ministry of the Interior announced today.

The previous balance was 2.012 dead and 2.059 injured.

The earthquake, whose epicenter was recorded in the town of Ighil, 63 kilometers southwest of the city of Marrakesh, was felt in Portugal and Spain, reaching a magnitude of 7,0 on the Richter scale, according to the National Institute of Geophysics of Marrakech. Morocco.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded the magnitude of the earthquake at 6,8.
